| In the 17th and 18th centuries, the Persian weaving workshops with the most prolific and decorative production were in the cities of Tabriz and Isfahan. The designs in this collection are taken from the huge body of designs that originated in these workshops. Using hand-spun wool, vegetal dyes and a very fine weave, these carpets are made with the same workmanship as the originals. In some cases, colors have been re-interpreted to bring these antique designs into the modern age. |
